Help Macmillan make a difference at this years Walk Wonders event. Enjoy a fun, family walk around our magnificent estate taking in the spectacular gardens, grazing lands and passing the oval lake. By taking part in this walk you will be helping people affected by cancer in Northamptonshire.

BBC ONE’s ever popular Sunday evening programme Antiques Roadshow starts filming for its 31st series when it opens its doors to the public in the grounds of Althorp.

A stellar cast of speakers will be appearing at the 5th Althorp Literary Festival, including Poet Laureate Andrew Motion, comedian Julian Clary, novelist Tracy Chevalier, and journalist John Humphrys.

When John, 1st Earl Spencer died in 1783 at the age of forty-nine, it was the end not just of a marriage, but of a love affair. He had been in love with Georgiana since his late teens, and this moving performance consists of fully-staged extracts from Lady Spencer's letters to her beloved friend Mrs. Howe - "My Dear Howey", covering the period leading up to the death of her "dear, dear husband" and its aftermath.

The talented musicians from Fiori Musicali will be perfoming a programme of Elizabethan madrigals and lute songs, whilst in appropriate costumes, in the Saloon. Champagne and canapés will also be served in the House. Tickets are £30.

The nationally renowned picinc proms come to Althorp. A celebration of classical music with cavalry displays, 200 live cannon, Spitfire air display and spectacular fireworks.

Art, Design and The Garden…All that is best in the world of gardening. ‘The Garden Show in Autumn’ returns to Althorp this Autumn. After the launch of the successful ‘taster’ event in 2007 the show returns bigger and better than ever.

'Art Pursuits' will be holding a Study Day at Althorp with the theme being '500 years of Althorp'.

Althorp will again be hosting the 10k run to raise money for Cancer Research. The run will go around the Estate and into neighbouring village Little Brington. More information coming soon.

There will be large number of stalls selling the best quality gifts, cards and decorations, the House will be traditionally and beautifully decorated in a style that reflects its 500 year history along with open fires, children singing carols and hot mulled wine all bring that warm pleasurable glow that we associate with the best of Christmas celebrations.
