The Great Room
Overlooking the Deer Park, the Great Room is remarkably warm and inviting.
Its walls are covered with rare paintings, including 3 portraits by Rubens, with magnificent giltwood mirrors at either end that lend the room a magical quality.
Originally called the Great Chamber, this room was often used for political meetings. It was re-created in its present form by the Seventh Earl Spencer and is often used today for entertaining private house guests.
The Great Room provides a perfect venue for a private dinner for up to 30 or for an intimate civil wedding ceremony seating up to 40. In addition, many guests find it works for informal occasions such as breakfast.
