The 7th Althorp Literary Festival 12th & 13th June 2010
To all those who attended and supported the 7th Althorp Literary Festival, thank you.
The 2010 Festival proved to be the most successful to date, with appearances from Bill Bryson, Lynda Bellingham, Alan Davies and Jenni Murray over the weekend.

Visitors were treated to fantastic music and performances from Mad Dog Mcrea, the Stowe School Jazz Band and The Creative Writers at the Museum in the Stableblock. The MND Association’s charity walk, Walk to D’Feet, was a huge success, and literary enthusiasts kept Waterstone’s, the official Festival Bookshop, extremely busy over the weekend.

Keep the following dates in your diary for next year. The 8th Althorp Literary Festival will be bigger and better than ever, and will take place over the 10th, 12th and 13th June 2011. To join our mailing list, please email mail@althorp.com or call 01604 770107
We look forward to seeing you next year!
The 8th Althorp Literary Festival 10th - 12th June 2011
The 8th Althorp Literary Festival was yet again a wonderful weekend, thank you to all those who attended and supported in 2011.

Visitors were treated to a rich mix of insight, learning, gossip and fun, with an array of readings, talks, performances from some wonderful authors and personalities.
A distinguished group of scholars such as David Starkey, Simon Sebag Montefiore and Gordon Campbell shared their insights into a variety of subjects, whilst we had some wonderfully light hearted and witty appearances from Rachel Johnson, Craig Brown and Arabella Weir. A fabulous performance from the internationally acclaimed Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain proved to be incredibly popular, and whilst the weather was slightly miserable on the last day of the Festival, our spirits were certainly not dampened!

We look forward to offering even more variety and excellence as the 2012 Festival approaches. The dates for the 9th Althorp Literary Festival event have been confirmed as the 15th, 16th and 17th June keep the dates in your diary! To join our mailing list, please email mail@althorp.com or call 01604 770107.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

“Lord! when you sell a man a book you don't sell just twelve ounces of paper and ink and glue - you sell him a whole new life. Love and friendship and humour and ships at sea by night - there's all heaven and earth in a book, a real book.”
Christopher Morley
