The Stowe School Jazz Band
Saturday 12th June

On Saturday, the Stowe School Jazz Band will be providing an exhilarating and uplifting performance during the Saturday lunch interval. Stowe School offers scholarships to gifted and talented musicians, and many go on to study at the major conservatoires in the UK and abroad. The Stowe Jazz Band performs at many outside events, as well as regularly in the School, and will be a wonderful addition to the weekend. Taking place in the Stableblock, why not enjoy a fresh summer lunch from the Stables café, and listen to lively jazz acoustics in the courtyard.

Walk to D’Feet MND
Sunday 13th June

On Sunday, visitors to the Althorp Literary Festival will have the opportunity to see more of the beautiful grounds of Althorp, by contributing a donation, and taking part in the Motor Neurone Disease Association’s fundraising walk. Walk to d’feet* MND is the organisation’s signature national fundraising event and is a fantastic year-round opportunity for the local community to raise awareness and much needed funds through fun and sociable sponsored walks. The Creative Writers at the Museum
Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th June

On both days of the Festival, the Creative Writers at the Museum will be performing throughout the day on the lawns at Althorp. Formed as a result of a very successful creative writing project at Northampton Museum and Art Gallery in 2006, the group take inspiration from items on exhibition at the Museum.

In between events at the Festival, why not take a moment to relax in the beautiful surroundings of Althorp, with a drink from our café whilst listening to wonderful readings of poetry and prose on offer from Northamptonshire’s local Creative Writing group

Mad Dog Mcrea
Sunday 13th June

On Sunday 13th June, Irish musicians Mad Dog Mcrea, will be providing an uplifting and lively performance in the Stableblock. This Devonshire-based Celtic group will be offering rousing and uniquely orchestrated performances over the lunchtime break, which will be guaranteed to entertain.
