The Althorp Literary Festival - More Authors Announced

Althorp looks forward to welcoming two further authors to the Literary Festival weekend.  Bestselling author and musician, Louis de Bernieres and Financial Times Management Columnist, Lucy Kellaway, will provide wonderfully refreshing and entertaining events at the Althorp Literary Festival, and add to a stellar line-up.

Lucy Kellaway: Financial Times Management Columnist Lucy Kellaway has brought all her business experience to bear in creating a mirror to modern corporate life. By turns smart, funny, moving and agonizing, her new novel In Office Hours is a masterclass in office love and all the unsavoury features of office life in the noughties.  In Office Hours will be the Radio 4 Book at Bedtime from 14 to 24 June.

Louis de Bernieres: On Saturday afternoon, why not relax with a refreshing cup of English tea, and listen to wonderful strories about England, its villages, and the enthusiastic characters who live there. We are delighted to welcome award winning author and musician, Louis de Bernieres, who will be providing a fantastic insight into his new book, Notwithstanding: Stories from an English Village.  Inspired by a statement by a Frenchman that Britain is the most exotic country in Europe, De Bernieres looks back on his time in the village in southern Surrey where he grew up in th 60s and 70s.  In this fascinating and witty session, Louis de Bernieres will provide a suberb end to Saturday, by revealing stories of a vanished England, introducing wonderful characters, and painting a picture of an entire community
